The Molerosses vacated The Moleross Place a few days ago. Might have something to do with it being riddled with wormholes.

Quests

Finding the meteorite is going to take a journey through a mind-twisting labyrinth.

  • Talk to the surveyor and take on the job.
  • Enter the house and go up, then right, to the Dining Room.
  • Turn off the lamp. (Your character now knows the wormholes respond to light.)
  • Return to the Foyer, get close to the large wormhole, and try to break the light. You throw a rock, but the wormhole grabs it.
  • Step through the wormhole into the kitchen, then throw a rock in from that end.

When you go back to the foyer now, the wormhole calms down, as long as you don't aim your flashlight at it. Stick to the wall and you can cross the room.

  • Head upstairs, then to the right, and remove the length o' rope from the dresser with 6ish Moxie. (With a shadow rope, you can skip this step.)
  • Outside, tie the rope to the well.
  • Descend into the well and enter the wormhole.
  • With a crowbar, pry the boards off the window here. (This lets more light in and enlarges the room's wormholes.)

The door south from the Upper Landing is locked. You can unlock it with the cursed key, or you can:

  • Lower the ladder to the attic, requiring 8ish Muscle, 7ish Moxie, and 6ish Mysticality.
  • Climb into the attic. Read the note above the crate. (Something about melting down a key in the kitchen.)
  • Make your way to the kitchen (try the big foyer portal) and take the top wormhole, depositing you in the back yard.
  • The key is in that pot the pig is occupying. Get the pig out with one of:
  • Now, with the burned Moleross key, return upstairs and unlock the door.

Enter the bathroom and step into the wormhole to your right, into the kids' bedroom.

  • Fall into the wormhole on the right. Now that your character knows where it leads...
  • Return to the kids' room (left, down, right).
  • Either push the bookshelf with 8ish Muscle, or:
    • Read the letter on the desk.
    • Search the bed for the Moleross letter, and read that.
    • Check the bookshelf and clear out the bricks.
    • Push the bookshelf.

It falls into the Primary Bathroom. Because you enlarged the wormholes there earlier, it falls again, landing in the Primary Bedroom and blocking a window.

  • Jump down after the bookshelf (or just walk left, up, and right) into the Primary Bedroom.
  • Close the shutters.
  • Finally, you can take the Moleross meteorite.

Bring it to Oskaloosa so she can grab a piece of it. If you give it to the surveyor instead, don't worry; he'll leave a Moleross meteorite shard behind that you can take to Oskaloosa.

Interactions

Outside

  • Find a noodle in the haystack.
  • Use the theodolite to appraise the value of a bug and then inform the surveyor. You do not receive any value for this.
  • Talk to the surveyor and agree to help in exchange for 10% of the evaluation. Get the Moleross key.
  • After removing the meteorite, talk to him and let him survey the house. Due to the awful layout, he estimates a value of only 2000 Meat (10 less if you took a fuse from the phone).
  • He offers 200 Meat for your work, but you can tell him the layout is better with the wormholes.
  • His new evaluation, if you give him the meteorite, is 5000, leaving 500 Meat for you.
    • With 8ish Moxie, haggle the evaluation up to 5500 Meat. He shoots back with 5700.
    • Insist on 5500 and he goes up to 5800. Haggling is not this man's forte.
  • If you take the 200 (or 199) offer, you keep the Moleross meteorite for yourself.
  • If you take the higher offer (499 to 580) and give him the meteorite... well, that guy was probably a jerk anyway, don't worry about it.

Notes

Tiny Hallway

There is a third Tiny Hallway which isn't accessible at all. To reach it, edit your save file, find the "WAA_ID" line near the bottom, and change it to:

"WAA_ID": "wormhouse_hall3"

It connects the right side of the Primary Bathroom to the Dining Room. The Dining Room further leads to the Bedroom. None of these are accessible while the wormholes are inactive.

There's text for the closet door in the Bedroom: "It's a door to a closet. There's nothing in your size."

  • A surveyor.
