Choosing a Culinary Science elective at S.I.T. (Admissions Office)

The S.I.T. Culinary Science Classroom resides in the Barbecue Wing, an offshoot of the Vector Wing. Perpetrate some cheffery in pursuit of higher education.

Quests

To pass this class, you'll need 4ish or more points of elemental armor in every element, one at a time. Obtain 5 food items from the 5 cooking stations and return to the professor to complete the elective.

You might want to check out the soda machine in the Vector Wing (leave the classroom and head down again). The sodas it sells are potions that grant 5 Elemental Armor for any element.

Interactions

Talk to the professor, and she instructs you to make a full day's food: breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizer, and dessert.

  • Lost Soul: "For all I know, I'm a chef."
  • Ask the professor about eggs and she hints at the pigeon coop on the roof.

The elemental armor tests don't follow the usual region-based formula; the requirement here is only 1-2 lower on Relaxed or Easy, rather than 2-3 lower.

Unit 1: Breakfast

To use the omelet station, you need pigeon eggs. These can be found on the roof with 4ish Stench Armor.

Select three ingredients and obtain an omelet. Your choice of ingredients has no effect on the class, but the Epilogue mentions it.

Unit 2: Lunch

Get 4ish Spooky Armor to access the sandwich station. All choices count toward a passing grade, but better choices earn XP and/or a pat on the back from the mustard-loving narrator.

Bread options:

  • Some timid white bread: The coward's way out.
  • A slightly aggressive rye (3 Muscle): Gain 3 XP
  • A truculent bagette (5 Muscle): Gain 5 XP
  • A belligerent ciabatta (7 Muscle): Gain 7 XP

Meat options:

  • Workmanlike bologna: The bare minimum still counts.
  • Suggestive salami (3 Moxie): Gain 3 XP
  • Smoky smoked turkey (5 Moxie): Gain 5 XP
  • Seductive mortadella (7 Moxie): Gain 7 XP

Cheese options:

  • A listless Gorgonzola: Slap it onto the sandwich.
  • A lively cheddar (3 Mysticality): Gain 3 XP
  • An energetic Gruyere (5 Mysticality): Gain 5 XP
  • A hyperactive Jarlsberg (7 Mysticality): Gain 7 XP

And finally, the most important decision: the condiment.

Unit 3: Appetizer

Approach the deep fryer with 4ish Sleaze Armor. Drop any food you're carrying into it and get a deep-fried version of that food.

Unit 4: Dinner

With 4ish Hot Armor, you'll find the oven already contains a plate of shrimp for an easy victory.

Unit 5: Dessert

Approach the cold stone with 4ish Cold Armor and:

Extra Credit

A dewar labeled "COMPLEX SYRUP" sits at the right side of the classroom. With 6ish Mysticality, turn it into a dewar of simple syrup for the speakeasy.
