The froggified people at The Frogbog direct you to Haim Quarry to address the curse that put them in the wrong bodies.
Quests
Make your way into the cave to the right. Talk to the man-frog there, named Frogger. He explains the situation and asks you to remove the remaining emerald from the frog-god statue. There are three ways to resolve this.
Make the curse permanent
- Take another gleaming emerald from the statue.
- Talk to Frogger. Get the emerald necklace of the Frog God.
- Get past the giant flies in the fly cavern, then haul the pile of maggots over to the Frogbog.
Nobody is happy with this except Frogger. And you with that necklace, especially if you use magical weapons.
Lift the curse
- Return the gleaming emerald to the statue.
- Talk to Roger, the de-frogged guy next to you. He wants help escaping the miserable quarry.
- Clear the giant flies out of the fly cavern.
- Tell Roger the way is clear.
The workers will make their escape when the time is right.
- You can also destroy the pile in the fly cavern for 35 and a giant maggot.
Lift the curse except for the jerk who earned it
First, change Frogger's mind.
- Talk to Frogger again. Ask him questions in this order:
- "How do you know how the statue works?"
- "A frog gave me this emerald. How's that possible?"
- "Why don't you take the gem out yourself?"
- "Why do you want to be a human so much?"
- "It seems rude to do this to those people."
- "Look, what I'm hearing here is..."
- (21-421-212 then spam 1)
- (You can retry the conversation as many times as you like.)
Second, investigate the quarry. Check on how things are going for the frogs, and how they were going for the humans here.
- Give Frogger the gleaming emerald, making it a glowing emerald, enabling nearby frogs to speak.
- Talk to the five other human-frogs: three outside, one in the bunk house, and one in the foreman's office. They are all miserable. The foreman-frog has an unhealthy obsession with Meat.
- In the foreman's office:
- Examine the employment files in detail.
- Dig through the desk, recovering a pistol and the mess hall key.
- Check the yacht catalog, telegram, and receipt in the desk.
- Check the safe and pay Haim-frog 50 for the key. Find Riche Enfoiré brand caviar.
- In the mess hall:
- "Hmmm" at the dishes, the stove, or the cabinet.
- In the bunk house:
- Read the note on the bed.
- Search the lockers.
Third, make a plan and pull it off. The frogs are miserable here, but the humans were too. You and Frogger can fix that.
- Return to Frogger in the cave.
- Tell him "there might be another option."
- Lure the foreman-frog:
- Get past the flies in the Fly Cavern and get a huge maggot from the pile.
- Try to bribe the foreman-frog with the tin of caviar.
- Bribe him with the maggot, bringing him to the cave.
- Find Roger:
- Examine the files again in the foreman's office to learn his name.
- Travel to The Frogbog, talk to the frog-humans, and bring Roger over.
Back in the cave, talk to Frogger one more time, then go to the statue.
- Return the missing eye.
Frogger is happy, the other frogs are frogs again, the workers are human again, and Haim won't exploit anyone anymore. You get 45 and Mr. Haim the greedy frog.

Notes
Bug: There's a minor bug with the foreman's desk:
- Investigate 1-2 of the documents in the desk, then exit the dialog.
- Examine the desk again, and check the document(s) you didn't check before.
- Then re-examine the document(s) you already checked.
The narrator says "Well, that tears it -- the guy running this place was absolutely horrible," 2 or 3 times instead of once. Each one counts as one of your investigation spots, so you can now skip 1-2 of the others.
here's how the desk bug works internally |
---|
this is what the code seems to do at the desk:
the bug is unlikely to happen unintentionally, you're unlikely to notice if it does, and it doesn't seem like it'll break anything. could save a couple seconds on a speedrun ig, but i feel like a speedrun wouldn't want to do this quest anyway. maybe a 100%? |
