Pacifist

You can choose to be a Pacifist in Shadows over Loathing from the options menu. Completing the game as a Pacifist gives the The Milk of Human Kindness achievement.

Differences

• All combats are locked out to you. Nearly all side-quests are completable in some form as a pacifist but not guaranteed.

Ocean City

• Gideon's Glockenspielery locked (combat drop)
• Goldthwait Park: exterminator contract locked until levelled up enough.

S.I.T. Campus, Porkham

• Rufus needs 3 fishmen roe but some options are restricted.

The Big Moist

• Haim Quarry: you can shoo off the flies for a stat check instead of combat as Pacifist.

Strategies

• XP is much more limited without fights. Maximize your XP gains by:
  • Completing as many side quests as possible.
  • Photosynthetic/Arthropod Affinity/Stony Heart gives extra XP from gathering.
