Grode Valley Orchard is one of the few sanctums untouched by the oil industry in Gray County. Shame about the worms, though.

Quests

Ask Maggie about fertilizer and she'll unlock the basement.

• Grab a 240 lb. bag of fertilizer. You can take it back to Grover now, or continue.
• If you want to bypass the fights, grab fragrant grodeworm secretions from the rightmost hole.
  • You're afflicted with Grodeworm Stink, but it can be washed off.

Crawl into the largest hole and down to Worm Cave.

• You must get past four groups of worms.
• You can fight each group or drive it off with fragrant grodeworm secretions.
• A couple can also be bypassed with side tunnels.
  • The first tunnel requires 7^ish Moxie.
  • You can pick up another thing of secretions behind the first group, and with 7^ish Stench Armor, another in a side tunnel.
    • Each one (re-)applies Grodeworm Stink if you don't have it already.

To defeat the boss, you can

• Fight it.
• Find a worm gear in a pile of rocks near the back wall, then install it in the machine back in the cellar. This drives away all remaining worms.

Talk to Maggie once the boss worm is killed or driven away. She gives you a five-gallon jar of Maraschino cherries for the speakeasy.

Cellar

• Find 240 lbs. of fertilizer.
• A machine needing a worm gear. Install it to get rid of worms.
• Find Toolbox items.
• Check a hole in the wall for fragrant grodeworm secretions and gain Grodeworm Stink effect.
• Maraschino the cat.
  • She doesn't appear until you've acquired the Grodeworm Stink debuff at least once.
  • Once you wash it off (or sleep), you can pet her for Maraschino's Boon.

Worm Cave

• Four groups of worms. Drops from fights include:
  • Some Meat
  • worm oil
  • worm squeezings
  • wormskin hatband
  • more?
• An egg pile containing fragrant grodeworm secretions.

Side Cave

The first side cave is featureless.

• Find fragrant grodeworm secretions with 7^ish Stench Armor.

Mother Worm's Chamber

• Find a worm gear sparkling near the top.
• Get wormskin boots. (where?)
• Find a worm pellet (and Grodeworm Stink) after the boss is defeated.
• Hobo glyphs: with 18 Hobo Literacy, read: "RICHES BELOW" and find pile of silver bars.
• A shadow rift containing the shadow apple.

Notes

• After defeating the boss grodeworm, you can report success and get the jar of cherries even if you left some worms alive in the tunnel.
• The big worm is called both Mother Worm and father grodeworm.
